About

Hello! I am Austin Rippee, an aspiring software engineer with a background in data analytics and web development. I graduated from Saginaw Valley State Unviersity in 2023 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. I am currently specializing in Java (Spring & REST APIs) where most of my focus is. Other skills include but are not limited to Python (Pandas, NumPy, MatPlotLib), SQL (Oracle, MySQL), VB.NET, JavaScript, and AWS. I have personal interests in health and fitness and hope to bring that passion into my professional career.

Below is my resume (last update was July 2025).

Outside of programming, I am passionate about running. I joined my middle school cross country team in the fall of 2012 and continued through high school and college seeing varied success over the years. I mainly trained for the 800 meters but thoroughly enjoyed the mile. Currently, I have shifted my attention towards training for the mile up to the 5k taking part in many road races near me. I took up being a cross country and track & field coach for my high school from January 2019 to June 2024.

Other interests also include skiing and four wheeling. I started skiing when I was just about 5 years old and started four wheeling when I was about 10 years old.

Training Suggestions
Stopwatch + Split Adder
Mileage Tracker
Performnance Ranking

I took a program made in PHP from my server-side web application development course (CIS 355) and converted the code base into a React program.

The program is simple where it provides login authentication, a users database, CRUD application features such as creating a user, reading a user, updating user information, and deleting a user.

Performed an in-depth analysis of personal Garmin running data during 2022 using Python, importing and processing a CSV file from Excel generating actionable insights using Pandas into long-term performance trends and improvement areas.

A couple of simple scripts to perform basic web scraping to gather data and manipulate that data into desired results.

This python script program provided the ability to find out the best 400m, 800m, and 1600m averages in Grand Blanc's school history by taking the average of the top 4 times per event.

The insights from this provide the ability to see which years are the best. This program also outputs a visualized bar graph to show the variation throughout the years.

I created this website as my personal project portfolio. I utilized HTML5, CSS3, and base JavaScript. This was merely a demonstration of practicing web development languages to provide personal branding.
