About

Hello! I am Austin Rippee, a Software Engineer with a background in data analytics and web development. Currently specializing in Java and technology migration. Other skills include but not limited to Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, MatPlotLib), JavaScript, SQL, and AWS.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder where I am specializing in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design as well as Generative AI. I will also take other electives that will focus on Data Mining and Machine Learning.

I have personal interests in health and fitness and hope to bring that passion into my professional career.

Outside of programming, I am passionate about running. I joined my middle school cross country team in the fall of 2012 and continued through high school and college seeing varied success over the years. I mainly trained for the 800 meters but thoroughly enjoyed the mile. Currently, I have shifted my attention towards training for the mile up to the 5k taking part in many road races near me. I took up being a cross country and track & field coach for my high school from January 2019 to June 2024.

Other interests also include skiing and four wheeling. I started skiing when I was 5 years old and started four wheeling when I was 10 years old.

Overview:

Designed a system for an industrial manufacturing plant that connects different mechanical components. The system has connectors that can only attach under specific conditions, and adapters that enable incompatible connectors to work together.

Overview:

Created a text editor that allows for the use of creating, uploading, and storing text files.

Overview:

Built a pen inventory system that implements classes and methods related to storing individual pens in a larger pen inventory system.

Performed an in-depth analysis of personal Garmin running data during 2022 using Python, importing and processing a CSV file from Excel generating actionable insights using Pandas into long-term performance trends and improvement areas.

A couple of simple scripts to perform basic web scraping to gather data and manipulate that data into desired results.

I created this website as my personal project portfolio. I utilized HTML5, CSS3, and base JavaScript. This was merely a demonstration of practicing web development languages to provide personal branding.
